Which Airplane is Best for You?
After selling over a thousand airplanes during my 30-plus year career there’s one thing that the majority of my customers have in common: they all want the biggest, fastest, most advanced airplane they can afford. But, more times than not, the airplane they want is not the right airplane for them to own. That’s why, when a prospect contacts me, the first thing I do is ask some key questions: how do you currently use an airplane? How many people typically fly with you? Do you fly a lot of hard IFR at night? Do you fly mostly locally, or longer distances? Once those questions are answered, I can begin to narrow down which aircraft I will recommend to them. Sure, they may have their heart set on a particular make and model and, if it’s truly not the best choice for their particular circumstances, there’s a bit of education to be done. What I want to help them avoid is finding a month from now, or a year from now, that they made a buying mistake. I’m a firm believer in the “80-percent rule” when it comes to selecting the right airplane. You should pick the one that best fits your mission 80 percent of the time. Why buy six seats if you only fly with one or two people? Why buy a turboprop if your typical flight is less than 300 miles? Sure, bigger and faster is fun, especially if you can afford it. But if you do need a larger, faster airplane only periodically, I suggest renting or chartering for those occasions. It’s been a good solution for many of my customers. I, along with everyone at Premier Aircraft Sales, want to be the best possible purchase advisor – not an order taker. Our customers can trust us to help them make the right selection. We work with you to make sure that the airplane you buy is the airplane that’s right for you. That way, you’ll be happy in the long run – and that’s what all of us want.
